Group Therapy for family of those struggling with mental health issues
Bio
I quickly felt compelled to immerse myself into the psychology and counseling field after having
personal, life-changing therapy experiences. Witnessing loved ones experience their own mental
health journey has further influenced my desire to help others in a constructive and effective
way. This exposure has deepened my perspective on the empowering effects therapy can have in transforming and enriching your quality of life. My goal is to guide you through this
transformative process by empowering you to tackle challenges, achieve your goals, and enhance your overall state of well-being and sense of enjoyment of life.
I began my mental health career journey at an in-patient psychiatric unit working with a variety
of patients ranging from adolescent to geriatric. The patients I primarily worked with faced
challenges such as addiction, psychosis, anger, behavioral management, and many other co-
occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety. I worked one-on-one with individuals and lead
group therapy sessions. I have also gained experience working with children with Autism from
ages two to thirteen in a one-to-one setting as a behavioral therapist. These sessions took place at their home, school, or clinic settings which demanded my appreciation and understanding of a
systematic approach in order to optimize recovery results.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Georgia Gwinnett College and will soon
graduate with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I
have the pleasure to embark on the opportunity to expand my counseling knowledge, experience, and skills as an intern here at Liberating Counseling Services beginning in January 2025.
During my time away from therapy and immersing myself in the ever-evolving counseling field,
I enjoy spending time outdoors on picnics or hikes and admiring the beauty of nature. I also love
pushing myself to the limits through strength training, gymnastics, and practicing martial arts
with Brazilian jiujitsu. I can also be found exploring new adventures whether it’s walking
through a new city or trying a new foodie experience. I look forward to deeply listening and
serving you!
